Parent to Parent of Georgia

Parent to Parent of Georgia serves as the Parent Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) for Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs) and Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRCs) in the Southeast Region (Region B), made up of 12 states. Parent to Parent of Georgia is part of the Parent Technical Assistance Center Network, working through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs.

Services Available to Our Parent Centers

  • Information Dissemination on current research and effective practice
  • Website including Resources, Updates on Parent Center and Nonprofit Issues and Trends, Calendar of Training Events, and Links to Websites and Social Media
  • Virtual Communities using Social Media tools to expand information options
  • Center Swaps (Exchange program where staff from one center support another center on specific needs/issues.)
  • Boot Camps (Concentrated training series on specific topics provided by experts, primarily through the use of technology. Hands on learning that will result in the creation of a product that can be implemented by Centers.)
  • Region B Meetings (Annual face-to-face meetings for all Centers in Region B)
  • One-on-One Assistance (Individualized assistance by phone, web conferencing or other means to any Center staff or Board member in Region B)
  • Topical Consultations (Concentrated training by experts, designed to meet a Center’s unique needs)
  • Site Visits (In-person site visits to each Center, customized to a Center’s specific needs)
  • Intensive Technical Assistance (Driven by a work plan developed and implemented jointly with a Center)
