The Alliance for Excellent Education’s (AEE) recent blog “What Classifies a Student Subgroup As “Consistently Underperforming?” Here Is What the Approved State ESSA Plans Say provides important information about how states are or are not defining ESSA’s “consistently underperforming” category. This is particularly important to students with disabilities. Read the blog at https://all4ed.org/what-classifies-a-student-subgroup-as-consistently-underperforming-here-is-what-the-approved-state-essa-plans-say/
AEE has created ESSA equity Dashboard reports that address key provisions important to student equity. Dashboards for 16 states (states with approved plans) are available at https://all4ed.org/essa/essa-in-your-state/
AEE also conducted a webinar on ESSA state plan on Dec. 13 titled “State ESSA Plans: Gift or Empty Stocking for Nation’s Students?”. The webinar archive is available at https://all4ed.org/webinar-event/state-essa-plans-gift-or-empty-stocking-for-nations-students/
Check out all of these great resources.
